The Big Wrap Up
By Eva Cwynar
It's December and as I do every year at this time, I pause to reflect on what the last year has brought even as I also look forward to what the next year will bring.
This past year has seen us welcoming a new year and a new life, along with a new commitment to taking charge of our health and well-being. We became more aware of everything around us and how it affects our ability to be happy. We learned to say "yes" to caring for ourselves, and having some "me" time. We learned to lighten the load of "too much," both internally and externally.
We learned how to love ourselves by caring for our bodies, minds and spirits. We learned ways to heal ourselves with a holistic and a whole-istic approach. We discovered ways to detoxify in order to reclaim our bodies inside as well as out. We got in shape and stayed in shape. We approached each new season with a sense of hope and pride, and we look and feel better because of the lives we have chosen to live.
I write this newsletter every month for two reasons: one, I like to share my knowledge with others; and two, because I hope that it helps you to think about things you haven't thought of previously, and to try things you haven't engaged in up until then. This December, as we close out another healthy and happy year spent listening to ourselves, I'd like to leave you with the words of Paracelsus, the renaissance physician who founded the discipline of toxicology and who said: "The art of healing comes from nature, not from the physician. Therefore the physician must start from nature, with an open mind."
Have an open mind going forward and you'll discover the power to continue changing as you go forward in your healthy, happy life. Thank you for a great 2014. I look forward to an even better 2015.
